Aotearoa NZ's independent voice of fishing, hunting & outdoors

Fishing & Outdoors Vol 3 Issue 3

1 min read

Saving the last of the giants, the mighty kauri, is our responsibility. And there are thousands of Kiwis passionate about encouraging people understand and build awareness around the importance of correctly using the kauri dieback cleaning stations installed.

One such Kiwi is Sarni Hart, a modern-day version of a librarian passing on a love of words, but in this case, she’s using storytelling to inspire and educate locals and visitors around the importance of protecting kauri and other native New Zealand trees.

Through a guided forest experience – part of the Coromandel Adventures that she started in 2011 – she is sharing her knowledge of the plentiful kauri, pohutukawa, puriri, and nikau.

Read her full story in our latest issue, along with other features, news, and updates from the fishing and hunting industries.
